DesGeorges

Danielle DesGeorges is the Jr High Director at Vinelife.

Get to know Danielle:

What brought you to Vinelife for the first time?

I have been attending Vinelife since before I can remember. My parents brought me with them every Sunday while I was growing up.

Why did you stay?

This is the place where God stole my heart.

What was your first step in getting involved at Vinelife?

I first became apart of the children’s ministry where my mom was my Sunday school teacher and eventually my dad became my Jr. High leader for JAM (Jesus And Me). I later moved onto becoming a member of SIM (Student Impact Ministries) and found my family.

Where have you plugged in at Vinelife?

Apart from Youth Group, I attended my family’s small group at our home. In High School I really plugged into SIM because Jason Roberson, Luke Humbrecht and Megan Humbrecht believed I was called to greatness. I interned with them throughout the week and I went to Take-Your-Daughter-To-Work-Day with Megan…Oh yeah, I still go.

What has been of your proudest moments?

When more than one girl showed up to the first Princess Party.

What inspires you?

Nature inspires me to remember who God is. I love to see the beauty in this world declare its own form of worship to God.

Who inspires you?

My mom, my dad, and both of my sisters inspire me because they show me how to dream and to do whatever God places on my heart. They make fun of me because of all my passion, but at the end of the day, they are the ones telling me to follow it. They think I’m extremely strange and weird but love me anyway. Also: Jason and Walt Roberson, Luke and Megan Humbrecht, Jane Austen, Frodo Baggins and Jesus.

What makes you laugh?

Road trips with my family, eating too much, the Pearson girls in general, the people I love, when I picture Mr. Collins standing next to Mr. Darcy, planning Princess Parties, when people try and understand what’s going on in my head, the thought of ellary signing autographs (it’s just so cute), and good memories.

What’s a current indulgence for you?

Watching too many Jane Austen movies while eating lots and lots of chocolate.

What is one goal you have for the next year?

To go skydiving with Jon Greany.

What are you passionate about now, that you used to not care about?

Le Tour de France.

What’s your day job?

Being a CU Buffalo!

What’s something new that you’re learning in your job that has surprised you?

How much I get in trouble for leaving the window in my office open after I leave. : )

Your idea of a perfect day?

Hiking up Aspen Mountain and drinking a diet coke at the top. All the while, the people I love the most waiting for me at the bottom to go watch all three extended versions of The Lord of the Rings…Then eating ice cream with my JV SIM family…is that more than 24 hours?

What’s currently in your CD player ?

The Michael Gungor Band

Your childhood ambition?

To never leave my mom’s side.

Your first job?

I worked at an ice cream shop…and ate a lot of ice cream.

What is your greatest memory?

Sitting in front of Michelangelo’s The David in Florence Italy and realizing that God can do extraordinary things through ordinary people.

What is your favorite movie?

That’s too hard of a question. Sometimes I like to watch Pride and Prejudice but other times it’s just a Lord of the Rings kind of day!

Your last purchase?

Cereal and milk.

What do you look for in a close friend?

Someone that I can trust to love me when I am unlovable.

What’s something new that you’ve learned about the Bible lately, that has surprised you?

It doesn’t matter how many times you read the same scripture, it still has the potential to dramatically change your life.

What do you think makes a good leader, someone that you’ll follow?

Someone that genuinely loves people and wants to lead them someplace they have already been.

Your favorite snack?

Anything with carbs.

If you could have lunch with a famous person, who would it be and why?

I would eat with Chris Martin, the lead singer of Coldplay and I would ask him to danced to Viva La Vida with me.

What have you read recently that really inspired or excited you?

A quote by Kahlil Gibran on marriage

What is your definition of a retreat?

Getting away from the things in my life that have become normal…and taking my heart and soul to a place where I can rest in the Lord.

What has God been showing you lately that has surprised you?

He thinks I’m cute.

Your fondest memory? (this is not the same as your proudest moment :-)

Mexico Missions Trip with SIM when I was in High School.

What’s your biggest challenge?

Decorating. I can’t decorate.

If you were given an extra hour in a day to do whatever you want, what would you do?

eat.

What is something that most people don’t know about you?

I get intimidated by most people and act really awkward.

If you could vacation anywhere…where would you go?

England

What’s God doing in your life that you are celebrating right now?

The fact that he’s in my life and puts up with me is worth celebrating.
